Slav Bot Add to Discord

Setup

Pick a server you manage, check the permissions on the next screen, and you're done.

What she asks for

The Add button on this page asks for these 14 permissions, not Administrator. Tap one to see what stops working without it, in the bot's own words.

To talk

    • I cannot see this channel at all
    • I cannot reply to anything, so every command looks like it was ignored
    • I never answer a command run inside a thread
    • every result card comes out blank: game boards, leaderboards, profiles, /help, mod confirmations
    • no images at all: every meme command and every rendered game board (slots, cards, the war map) sends nothing
    • "use the last image posted" stops working, so most image commands need a fresh upload every time
    • /purge cannot see the messages it is meant to delete
    • a command you switched off in a channel gets blocked with no 🚫 mark, so it just looks broken
    • giveaways lose their 🎉 / ✅ acknowledgements

To moderate

    • automod can only flag scams and rule-breaking messages, not delete them or punish anyone
    • /purge cannot delete anything
    • the ❄️ Siberia trap leaves the trapped message up when set to kick or time out
    • /mute and /unmute refuse
    • the automatic timeout on a third warning never happens, and automod cannot time anyone out
    • /kick refuses, and automod cannot kick a scammer even when it is set to
    • /ban and /unban refuse, and /mod cannot show the ban list
    • automod cannot ban a scammer even when it is set to
    • /role refuses, and so does every role change Slav Chat offers
    • the auto-role for new members never gets given out (set in /admin → General)
    • /nickname refuses, and so does every nickname change Slav Chat offers
    • someone kicked is logged as having left on their own
    • bans are logged without who did them, so I can't tell my own bans from a moderator's
    • I cannot tell who added me, so my setup DM goes to the server owner instead of whoever invited me

A few things worth knowing

Which button to use

Use the Add button on this page. The Add App button on her Discord profile and in the App Directory asks for Administrator instead, which is Discord's default today, and so does the Add to a server button on her /support card. The buttons here ask for the 14 permissions above and nothing more.

Adding her again is safe

If Slav is already in your server, the link only updates her permissions. Nothing is kicked or reset.

Where her role should sit

Discord only lets a bot manage roles that sit below its own role. Keep her role under the ones she shouldn't touch.

After you add her

Run /help to browse every command and /admin to set the server up.

No server of your own?

Add Slav to your Discord account instead and about 40 of her commands work in any server or DM, even where she isn't a member.

Add to your account

If something doesn't work

The bot doesn't answer.

Check that Slav has View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links and Attach Files in that channel. Also check that the command hasn't been turned off there: she reacts with a 🚫 when a typed command is disabled in a channel, and slash commands get a private reply instead.

Slash commands don't show up.

The server may have denied Use Application Commands to everyone. Slav can't fix that. An admin has to allow it.

Moderation or auto-role does nothing.

Slav was probably added without Administrator or the permissions listed above. Add her again with the button on this page. Nothing is lost.

How do I report a bug or suggest a command?

Run /feedback, or ask in the support server.
